Atlanta — PETA, the world’s largest animal rights organization, has donated 30 fur coats to be given away to the homeless and other needy people at the grand opening of the Holy Trinity Church in Atlanta. The coats were sent to PETA by people who’ve had a change of heart and can no longer bear to wear fur:
Animals caught in steel-jaw traps suffer excruciating pain, often for days, before they are stomped or bludgeoned to death by trappers. On fur farms, animals are confined to tiny, filthy cages, where they suffer physical pain—without veterinary care—and psychological distress before they are killed by painful methods such as neck-breaking, suffocation, and vaginal or anal electrocution, which causes animals to convulse, shake, and even cry. PETA recently revealed abuses found during an undercover investigation at a Michigan fur farm, including the painful neck-breaking of chinchillas, which causes the animals to writhe in agony....continued... www.peta.org/mc/NewsItem.asp?id=9474
