CareerBuilder ran an ad during the Super Bowl featuring chimpanzees dressed in suits, ties, and dresses, who were made to act like humans (who are “behaving like monkeys”) in an office setting. What you might not know is that chimpanzees and other great apes are abused behind the scenes( www.nomoremonkeybusiness.com/ )so that they will perform. We need your help in convincing CareerBuilder never to use apes in its ads again. Apes used for commercials are routinely beaten into submission; trainers often beat young chimpanzees with their fists, with clubs, or even with broom handles in order to force them to perform. Shock devices are also used. This pattern of abuse and dominance causes the animals to be constantly anxious and fearful, always anticipating the next blow. The apes used in ads such as those made by CareerBuilder may look like they're “smiling”, but in fact, the chimpanzee "grin" is a grimace of fear or a carefully choreographed response to a command. Please write to and call CareerBuilder today and tell the company that cruelty to animals is not good for business. Let them know that you, your friends and your family will not use CareerBuilder’s services until it pledges not to use apes in any future ads. Give them your comments as well here: www.spiketv.com/interact/feedback/feedback.jhtml
